I just got one of these here in the states. A movie prop house in Hollywood went out of buisness and had 25 of these that they brought over for 1997 film "Red Corner" with Richard Gere.

These are made by the Flying Pidgeon bicycle company in China. The bike is very cool and I plan on making a nice carriage seat with belts for my two kids.

Thanks for posting this. I have many Chinese pen friends who complain to me about their educational system. They know it isn't the way it should be, but they don't really know how it should be either. I try to explain our Western system without bragging or trying to sound superior, but this article is great. I like Peter Hessler's work, and I'll read his new book as soon as I get a chance.

A belated happy Chanukkah. Christmas here in Toronto is almost purely non-religious, more a large marketing campaign. When I was living in Beijing there were no indications of Christmas whatsoever. How times have changed. I do find it odd that China would celebrate Christmas, as there is no cultural link to the event. Maybe it is all marketing?

To continue, for the students who do not want to listen much, the instructor should monitor their progress and sometimes remind them what they have not grasp and they need to learn those stuff themselves.
